1. Discuss appropriate tasks and responsibilities for each accounting department level.
2. Provide examples of what each position should entail.
3. Provide opportunities for participants to assess their accounting positions and determine whether action should be taken.
We visit nonprofit organizations all over the country, performing internal control and business process reviews. We frequently observe that fiscal managers tend to do the their staff’s work, rather than the tasks and responsibilities appropriate for their level.
In this session we will discuss appropriate roles and responsibilities for each level of an accounting department’s staff, from CFO to accounting clerks. Our focus will emphasize managers: How can they best benefit the organization? Our session will include exercises to help participants focus on their own accounting departments.
